Unicon_reg File: Application Error Message Solution
This unicon.exe file contains the unicon.reg file, which
resolves an error message that may be displayed if you are running an AutoCAD®
2004-based product on the Windows NT® 4.0 operating system.
Description of Problem
An error message similar to the following may be displayed when you close any
open application:
APPLICATION ERROR: The instruction at "0x70a04f2f" referenced memory at
"0x01210ec0". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the
application.
Affected Products
The problem may affect the following AutoCAD 2004-based products if they are
installed on the Windows NT 4.0 operating system:
- AutoCAD® 2004
- AutoCAD LT® 2004
- Autodesk® Architectural Desktop 2004
- Autodesk Map 2004
- Autodesk® Land Desktop 2004
- Autodesk® Mechanical Desktop® 2004
- AutoCAD® Mechanical 2004
Installation Instructions
Before you install the unicon.reg file, you should back up the
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT registry hive. If you do not know how to back up this hive,
contact your system administrator.
To install the unicon.reg file
- Download the unicon.exe file to a location on your hard drive.
- Double-click the unicon.exe file, and then extract unicon.reg. Make note of the location where you extracted the file.
- Close all open applications.
- Open Microsoft® Windows Explorer and navigate to the unicon.reg
file. Double-click unicon.reg.
- The Register Editor message is displayed, confirming that you successfully
entered unicon.reg into the registry. Click OK.
- Close Windows Explorer. The Application Error message is displayed one last time.
- Click OK in the Application Error message to close it.
- Restart your computer.
